88% of Homes have At Least One Cluttered Room
A survey by The Australia Institute found that the average home has three or more cluttered rooms.
If you have a spare room, it is likely
to be the most cluttered area in your home, followed by cupboards, the garage
and bedrooms. In fact, 88 percent of homes, in Australia, have at least one
cluttered room.
In fairness, not everything is unwanted or unneeded clutter
but it’s taking up space you don’t need taken up in your home.
The survey asked: Which areas or rooms in your home would you describe as cluttered?
Different kinds of people tend to acquire different types of
clutter.
Some of those interviewed confessed to being strongly
attracted to bargain clutter, while those who identified themselves as
‘hoarders’ said much of their clutter is of the ‘just-in-case’ kind.
Other
people said their spending habits meant their homes accumulate bought clutter.
So, if you are decluttering it’s time to take a long, hard
look at what you have. Now, instead of the clutter, you can get rid of what you don’t
want and store the rest.
And, if you are moving home, instead of cluttering up a room
in your new home, store it.
