On this international women’s day, it is a reminder of how
women are life blood in the community. They do so with so much joy, commitment
and passion. They have carried the burdens of society throughout the ages with
grace, strength and a hell a lot of nagging. They have been known to stop wars
and to start them as well. Thank you Helen of Troy. Everything from the
burdens of child birth to mastering a family to running a business and
excelling in sport, they are men’s equal.
Anyway, enough of politics and life and let’s talk about our
storage industry. Whilst you may think of the stereotype of a warehouse, and
sweaty men all mingling about in their storage units with forklifts and
trucks chugging off diesel fumes, it is very much not the case. Believe it or
not, it is the ladies of this world who are our first points of contact and the
majority of our customers. Whether it be enquiring about getting their house
organised to preparing an office or a factory to be stored, it is the ladies
who get us disorganised men into the fray. They are the ones during the week
and the weekend, handling their young children and hauling cupboards and TVs
out of their cars to put into storage.
They are also the mini warehouse managers of their own
dominions of storage units who decide the fate of the contents in the storage
unit and organise their way ward mulling about male partners into action.
It is quite inspiring to see the length and involvement
women have to our industry and so at Storage King Chatswood, we strongly
believe that it is our duty to be small part of their world and especially the
day we pay tribute to women for all their contributions.
So on a cold Autumn day, Storage King Chatswood along with
some of our capable ladies customers and staff alike, all attended the
celebration breakfast held by the Concourse and the City of Willoughby.
We felt that sponsoring and being part of such a special event for women,
where we acknowledge their rightful place in this world, is one way of
acknowledging our valued customers in women.
So here is a small tribute from us at Storage King. Happy
International women’s day for the ladies out there. You are our mothers,
aunties, sisters, cousins, nieces, grandmothers, bosses, colleagues, customers,
girlfriends, wives and most importantly you are all stars in our eyes.
