WHAT’S IN A BOX?

A box is more than just an empty cube made of cardboard. Whilst it’s not quite Star Trek technology, it’s still a transportation device and it needs to function effectively. It’s got to keep the dust out and the contents in. It might need to travel halfway around the world, getting bounced and tossed by any number of handlers, or it might need to sit in a corner for months or years on end and still be in good condition when you pick it up next time. It has to be suitable to be taped, cut, folded, written on and glued. It’s got to be the big enough for the job and small enough for the person moving it.

Next time you see ‘a box full of stuff’, have a close look. Is it packed well? Is there wasted space in it? Does it close up properly or are the contents spilling out? You’d be amazed at how many people we see wrestling with a large box full of heavy items or a small box that has collapsed mid-lift, spilling its contents. Often we see customers struggling to get best use out of their storage space because they have used a collection of odd shaped boxes, which don’t stack neatly. Tetris might be a classic game on the computer, but it’s not as much fun in three dimensions when you’re storing your valued possessions.

Luckily, box selection can be made easy. Speak to your storage consultant before you start packing. All Storage King facilities carry a comprehensive range of boxes – from robust general purpose boxes to specialty items for wine, pictures and even your expensive plasma TV. We‘re happy to recommend the right product for you, whether you’re storing or shipping, and you can rest assured that all our boxes – and associated items like bubble wrap, corrugated cardboard, furniture covers, tissue paper, butcher’s paper and tape as well – are second to none for quality and value for money.
